Harry Potter's England & Wales

Jacobite Steam Train
Whatever your age, this tour for film and book enthusiasts combines visits to film locations with some of the UK's classic attractions. See mediaeval villages, historic cities, a fairytale castle, a prehistoric stone temple, stunning scenery and wonderful architecture. An 'activity-based tour' for families, there's a steam train ride, castle exploring, woodland walking and family competitions.

Our tour also introduces youngsters to famed writers such as C.S Lewis, Lewis Carroll and Ronald Dahl.. a perfect voyage of discovery and a great way to build on the Harry Potter experience.

Itinerary:

Day 1 (Wed) London - Cotswolds
Begin your magical journey by visiting the new Roald Dahl Museum to find the inspiration behind 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' and 'The BFG'. At Oxford, home of Britain's oldest university, climb the stairs of 'Hogwarts', see the infirmary, library and where Harry met Tom Riddle! Visit Christ Church College dining hall, the 'model' for Hogwarts Hall plus amazing museum of eclectic oddities. On our 'Alice in Wonderland' walk, see where Alice entered the door into Wonderland, find a dodo and discover Lewis Carroll's inspiration for the Mad Hatter tea parties. Overnight in a Cotswolds village.

Day 2 (Thu) Cotswolds - near Gloucester
Travel through the delightful Cotswolds region of stone villages, Tolkein's inspiration for the 'The Shire' in the Hobbit. Visit a magical stone circle and hear the legend of the Witch, King and Fairies who live underground. Meet Harry's feathered friends at a flying display of birds of prey. Take a 'Hogwarts Express' style steam train through the countryside to Cheltenham. Last visit of the day is the Old City of Gloucester, immortalised by Beatrix Potter in 'The Tailor of Gloucester', visit the cathedral and follow a Harry Potter trail around its cloisters. Overnight near Gloucester.

Day 3 (Fri) Near Gloucester - London
Venture into the Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley, well-known to J.K, Rowling. Maybe take a stroll into the forest looking for Fairies and Unicorns. Drive into Wales and hear stories of Dragons and Merlin the Magician, then explore the fairytale Chepstow Castle. At the mediaeval village of Lacock, used in the Harry Potter films, see the house where Harry's parents were murdered and the street used as 'Privet Drive'.
